Razorbacks FAQ

About our program

What is the Pelham Razorbacks Youth Football & Cheer program?
The Pelham Razorbacks, founded in 1972, is a youth football and cheer organization for athletes aged 5-13. We are a proud member of the New Hampshire Youth Football & Spirit Conference (NHYFSC) and affiliated nationally with American Youth Football (AYF) and American Youth Cheer (AYC). Our mission focuses on familiarizing youth with fundamentals, providing a supervised and safe environment, and instilling ideals of good sportsmanship, scholarship, and personal integrity.
What are the age requirements and divisions for Pelham Razorbacks Football and Cheer?
For football, athletes aged 7-13 by July 31st can register, with divisions including 9U (7-9), 11U (10-11), and 13U (12-13). For cheer, athletes aged 5-13 by July 31st can register, with divisions ranging from Division 6 (5-7) to Division 14 (11-14) covering various skill levels. The age cut-off for all divisions is July 31st.
Is prior experience required for my child to join football or cheer, and what about safety?
No experience is necessary for either football or cheer! Our experienced coaching staff starts with the basics and teaches fundamentals, developing skills in a structured and progressive manner. We are committed to providing a supervised and safe environment, outfitting football players with the industry’s best and safest equipment, and ensuring all coaches and volunteers are trained.
What is the core philosophy of the Pelham Razorbacks program?
Our core philosophy for both football and cheer is centered around four principles: FUN (everyone participates and enjoys), FOCUS (learning fundamentals and understanding the game/sport), FITNESS (getting fit and practicing with purpose), and FAMILY (everyone supports one another and teammates become friends). We prioritize life lessons and good sportsmanship, never being a “win at all costs” program.
